About the team and the role

 

The Legal, Risk and Compliance team report into the General Counsel and manage a breadth of regulatory responsibilities. This role sits within the Risk and Compliance division of the team and plays a crucial role in protecting ORL by implementing and delivering an effective and positive risk framework incorporating applicable processes, methodologies and tools as well as managing the existing business continuity programme.  


This role will prioritize and oversee risk mitigation by monitoring and evaluating existing and emerging risks and is the perfect opportunity to contribute to and be a part of Ocado Retail’s dynamic growth journey.

 

What you’ll do

 
  • Ownership of the Risk Management Programme: Implement a bottom up and top down approach to risk management by engaging with the leadership team to identify their views of principal risks, and working bottom up with individual teams in key business areas to support them in the risk lifecycle (identifying, assessing, mitigating, monitoring, reporting), ownership of their risks and maintenance of the applicable risk registers whilst also ensuring the risk appetite is understood across the organisation so that business transformation and growth are managed within the acceptable tolerances
  • Awareness: Promote a proactive risk awareness culture within ORL to improve engagement and understanding as well as continuous horizon scanning to identify emerging risks applicable to ORL. 
  • Stakeholder engagement: Develop qualitative and quantitative risk reports, using appropriate risk solutions, to present to the relevant committees on a timely basis whilst also ensuring regular engagement with risk owners in each business area to ensure consistency and accountability. 
  • Collaboration: Engage and coordinate with other functions both internally and externally to ensure alignment with process and understanding of risk appetite and tolerance for projects, audits and assurance plans.. 
  • Business Continuity: Oversee and support the business continuity, disaster recovery, playbook and crisis management plans by reviewing and updating relevant documentation, undertaking tests and training whilst also identifying areas for improvement to streamline the process. 
  • Training: Support the development and delivery of training for risk and business continuity to colleagues, including annual refresher programmes and trainer-led sessions

 

Who you are
 

  • Experienced in a 2nd line of defense Risk function with the ability to create and implement policies, processes, frameworks and reports
  • Able to engage with senior management, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to balance the needs of the business with legal, regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Organised and driven with the aptitude to protect the business and its information to ensure it is not compromised or exposed to unnecessary risk

 

We believe this role would be best suited to a seasoned risk / compliance / assurance professional interested in part-time roles, possibly as a step to a consultancy career.
