    About the team and the role

    As a Senior Buyer, you will have accountability for a specified category within the commercial buying team. You will be responsible for Buying ensuring your supply base and the product range is optimised, proactively using data and analysis to maximise performance to and drive sales, profitability and share growth to support the growth to to support the overall Ocado Retail strategy and goals.

    Spirits, Ready to Drink and Tobacco is a dynamic category that is currently performing ahead of the market, and we’re looking for a senior buyer to raise the bar even further. It’s a heavily branded area where building a strong trade plan is vital and has loads of space for creativity, be that cocktails trends,  securing exclusive launches or supporting small and upcoming suppliers.  This role sits in our  BWS Buying team where our vision is to go beyond the bottle to provide  an excellent shopper experience to help our customers find the right drink for  every occasion – we are a fast paced & proactive team where we value collaboration and enjoyment of the fantastic category we operate in 

     

    What you’ll do

     

    • Manage the category P&L and deliver against KPIs
    • Complete category reviews to refine range and align to the business and category strategy
    • Plan and deliver trade, promotions and events plan
    • Identify and deliver opportunities to drive customer penetration 
    • Identify and deliver opportunities to improve all-in margin, negotiate with suppliers to deliver savings 
    • Negotiate with suppliers to agree and deliver market-leading plans aligned to the customer plan and category strategy.
    • Analyse and assess performance issues and opportunities using data and reporting tools, devise and implement solutions
    • Identify, analyse and source first-to-market / Ocado exclusive product innovation using customer, market and supplier insights to guide decision making
    • Ensure range changes are aligned to the category and business strategy
    • Work closely with supply chain colleagues and the supplier base to ensure best in class availability
    • Work closely with our e-comm team to deliver merchandising solutions for the category and customer
    • Collaborate with the M&S team under the JV terms 
    • Identify and create plans to mitigate potential issues / events that may impact supply
    • Adhering to all Ocado policies, storage and handover protocols and successfully completing all of your training so that you have zero GSCOP breaches. Ensuring all agreements are recorded in writing, reporting GSCOP complaints to Legal within 48 hours of receipt
    • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence

     

    Who you are

    • Significant retail buying experience and existing Senior Buyer experience required, ideally with large branded suppliers 
    • Excited about working in retail and food
    • Proficient in Excel, with prior experience working with customer insights, transactional or financial data
    • Leadership capability/people management
    • Influencing and stakeholder management
    • Very strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen
    • Project management capability
    • Able to analyse complex sets of data
    • Ideal experience is a background of buying products with Duty taxes 
    • Ideal experience would be WSET level 2 or above in Spirits

This is a high-trust, high-impact role at the heart of our brand, and in return you will work on some of our most ambitious and interesting projects, have significant exposure to leaders across the organisation, and gain a deep understanding of how the Customer function operates.

    Responsibilities

    • Customer and go-to-market strategy – help identify new opportunities and propositions to better serve Ocado’s customers, and support our growth.
    • Strategy execution and delivery – co-own the planning, tracking, and follow-through on strategic priorities. Act as an executive portfolio management office for our most important projects.
    • Thought partnership and decision support – support Chief Customer Officer in strategy development. Act as a sounding board for major decisions by bringing clarity, structured thinking, and data where needed. This may include writing the narrative and storytelling for the customer organisation, including vision decks, quarterly updates, team town halls.
    • Customer function performance management and operating rhythm – Help Chief Customer Officer and senior leaders to manage functional performance by helping to break functional programs into weekly, monthly and quarterly KPIs. Set up and run leadership cadence. Work with the Customer senior leadership team to ensure their teams remain focused on what matters, identifies signals from noise, and flags any issues where they arise.
    • Board and exco relationships – help prepare briefing documents and synthesised insights ahead of key leadership or board discussions.
    • Special projects – pick up important or sensitive opportunities as they arise. This may include incubating projects in their very early stage, or it may include being parachuted into projects that require a new home.
    • Connective tissue – support the Chief Customer Officer and Customer SLT by building strong peer relationships across critical functions, including Commercial, Finance, Logistics and Tech teams.

    We seek a highly skilled Oracle PaaS Architect to lead the design, development, and deployment of integrations, extensions, and reporting solutions for Oracle Fusion ERP and SCM. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), EDI integrations, and Oracle PaaS technologies, with a strong preference for experience integrating Google Cloud Platform (GCP) & EDI using the OIC Adapter.

    This role requires a deep understanding of Oracle Fusion applications, middleware technologies, and cloud-native integration patterns to drive digital transformation and streamline business processes.

    What you’ll do

    • Architect and implement Oracle PaaS solutions, including integrations, extensions, and reporting for Oracle Fusion ERP and SCM.
    • Design and develop OIC-based integrations to connect Oracle Fusion with external applications, including EDI integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
    • Lead the design, development, and governance of integrations between GCP and Oracle Fusion ERP/SCM using OIC adapters.
    • Define best practices, frameworks, and reusable components for Oracle PaaS-based integrations and extensions.
    • Develop and optimize custom Oracle PaaS extensions using Oracle VBCS (Visual Builder Cloud Service), APEX, and Java Cloud Service.
    • Ensure seamless data flow, synchronization, and transformation between Oracle Fusion and external systems, including B2B, B2C, and backend applications.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and system integrators to translate business needs into technical designs.
    • Provide guidance on security, scalability, and performance optimization for Oracle Cloud applications and integrations.
    • Design and manage Fusion BI reports, OTBI, and BIP templates to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
    • Stay up to date with Oracle Cloud releases, new features, and best practices to ensure optimal system performance and continuous improvement

    Who you are

    • Previous experience in enterprise application architecture with a focus on Oracle Fusion ERP and SCM.
    • Previous hands-on experience with Oracle PaaS, OIC (Oracle Integration Cloud), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
    • Strong experience in EDI integrations (ANSI X12, EDIFACT, AS2, VANs, etc.) using OIC or other middleware solutions.
    • Experience integrating Oracle Fusion ERP/SCM with third-party applications using OIC, REST, SOAP, and B2B Adapters.
    • Proficiency in designing Oracle Fusion ERP and SCM Extensions using VBCS, APEX, or Java Cloud Service.
    • Strong expertise in Fusion reporting tools such as BI Publisher (BIP), OTBI and Smart View.
    • Strong knowledge of APIs, Web Services, and data transformation techniques for B2B, B2C, and enterprise integrations.

    We are looking for a motivated individual who will be responsible for all areas of Payroll for the business as well as supporting the Central Costs team with financial analysis & insight. You will be processing Monthly & Lunar payrolls for our Head Office & Customer Hub teams through our payroll system Cintra and building strong relationships with both internal teams and external provider to ensure accurate and timely payroll operations. You will also have the opportunity to business partner with Heads of Department ensuring central costs are within budget and to identify any opportunities and savings. You will be encouraged to review existing processes and drive continuous improvements across both payroll operations & central costs. The role will report to the Finance Manager.
     

    What you’ll do

    Monthly and Lunar Payroll:

    • Checking and processing new starters, leavers & amendments (Bonus pay, pay increase, sickness, overtime etc.)
    • Checking and processing salary sacrifice schemes and deductions
    • Pension processing and support
    • Processing family leave agreements
    • Preparation of P11d’s and PSA (PAYE Settlement agreements)
    • General payroll related queries & supporting the People team with ad hoc queries 
    • Liaising with accounting team on monthly journals & balance sheet reconciliations & managing payroll controls
    • Support with continued Payroll project work & ad hoc analysis

    Finance Analyst:

    • Prepare monthly cost centre reports and variance analysis for heads of departments
    • Business partner with cost centre owners / heads of departments to ensure accurate cost control & forecasting
    • Liaise with the People team to ensure accurate cost centre mappings and people movements
    • Supporting the Finance Manager to review existing processes and implement improvements
    • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting

     

    Who you are

    • Strong experience of working with Monthly & Lunar Payroll
    • Advanced knowledge of Payroll techniques, legislation and principles
    • Knowledge of Cintra Payroll / Sage HR
    • Experience working with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, or similar)

    • Business partner with Cost Centre owners & Heads of Departments to ensure accurate cost control & forecasting.
    • Business partner with Ocado Group to ensure recharges are correct whilst providing challenge on any variances.
    • Liaise with the People team to ensure accurate cost centre mappings and people movements.
    • Supporting the Finance Manager to review existing processes and implement improvements.
    • Assist in the development of new financial models, tools, and reports to improve visibility and efficiency.
    • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.

     

    Who you are

     

    • Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA 
    • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, or similar)
    • Experience of budgeting and forecasting
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders 
    • Methodical, detailed and organised with a keen eye for detail
    • Strong understanding of central/overhead cost structures and allocations
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet tight deadlines

    At ORL, the FP&A and Finance Systems team is split into 3 teams: Reporting, Planning and Finance Systems and ensure the C-Suite is equipped with the insight it needs for strategic and tactical decision making through KPIs, data visualisation and story telling in our Board Reporting, Budgets, Forecasts and 5 year planning.

     

    This role sits in the Reporting team, and plays a crucial role in understanding the levers of successful performance in our growth and profitability objectives. The team is agile, it has high exposure, a mindset of continuous improvement and enables a fantastic overview of the full business P&L and balance sheet.

     

    What you’ll do

     

    • With support from the FP&A Graduate Analyst, preparation and coordination of Weekly Trade reporting with key responsibility to deliver insightful analysis on performance trends 
    • Lead on key Finance projects outside of the routine FP&A deliverables
    • Develop reports and analysis to give insight into commercial performance and operational cost base by key drivers
    • Delivery of month-end performance packs presented to the board and the leadership team
    • Support the FP&A Manager to evolve current ways of working and improve Finance processes
    • Dotted-line coaching and supporting responsibilities for the FP&A Graduate Analyst 

     

    Who you are

     

    Essential

    • Strong academics
    • Strong Excel skills
    • Highly numerate and analytical with a keen eye for detail that is deadline focused and goal oriented

    • Qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA

    • Develop and maintain budget models, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
    • Prepare budget reports and presentations for senior management and ORL’s Board

    Forecasting:

    • Supporting monthly re-forecasts.
    • Provide actionable insights into future performance.
    • Analyse forecast variances and identify potential risks and opportunities.
    • Collaborate with other departments to gather data and refine forecast accuracy.

    Long-Term Strategic Planning (Five-Year Plan):

    • Lead the development of the company's five-year strategic financial plan.
    • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic initiatives.
    • Develop financial models to evaluate different strategic scenarios.
    • Collaborate with senior management (CEO, CFO) to translate strategy into numbers 
    • Prepare presentations for senior management and ORL’s Board

    Management and Mentorship:

    • Supervise and mentor one direct report, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
    • Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
    • Identify and implement process improvements within the FP&A function.
    • Collaborate with other departments to support business decision-making.
